What are the different options in the forest?

Learn about the 5 types of trees we offer for you and your family.

We offer five different types that are differentiated by size, number of spreadings, and if the tree is exclusive to your family.

We call them Community, Young, Heritage, Legacy, and Monument Trees, and you can learn about the difference below.

Community Trees

    1. Community Trees are communal spreading areas around our largest and most prominent trees in the forest. They are not exclusive to one family and are similar to a scatter garden in a more traditional cemetery.
    2. Community Trees come with 1 spreading right and are most frequently chosen by a person planning for just themselves and have no pets.
    3. Community Trees are our most affordable option, starting as low as $970.
    4. Pets cannot be spread around Community Trees.
    5. Community Trees have a single marker for the tree. If you would like your own marker, you need to select a Young, Heritage, Legacy, or Monument Tree.
    6. When selecting a Community Tree, all customers will be asked to sign a document saying that they give permission for their ashes to be spread with the ashes of other individuals. The ashes of many individuals can be spread around Community Trees, as ashes break down in the Redwood soil within 2 years.
    7. Community Tree spreading rights are sold individually. It is possible, to have ashes spread at the same Community Tree as someone in your family or someone you know, if you desire. We will just need to refer back to your contract to determine the specific Community Tree.
